I remember riding around and carrying so many things in my hands, from a drink to a hockey stick.

My mother used to send me to the store to pick up some groceries.  I would manage to carry 3 or 4 grocery bags at a time without giving it a second thought.  It would have been so much easier with a saddle bag or general bicycle bag but back then it was a rarity.

I also remember that my bicycle seat had little to no padding but we made do with what we had back then.  Bicycle seats were not contoured for your derriere, and the leather always was worn or torn.  One of my first uses for duck tape was my bicycle seat.

Gone are those days as there are now a plethora of bicycle bags including waterproof mobile phone bags and a vast assortment of bicycle seats.

When it comes to bicycle bags, waterproof is the way to go to protect your valuables.  You may also wish to consider a bicycle cover to prevent rust.
